Indian fantasy sports major Dream11 has officially launched operations in Canada, signaling the company’s next step in its global expansion following regulatory challenges in its home market.
The world’s largest fantasy sports platform announced its arrival in Canada alongside planned launches in markets such as the US, UK, Australia, New Zealand, and the UAE. Dream11 aims to build a connected global sports community where fans can engage through skill-based fantasy gaming and interactive experiences.
A New Beginning for Dream11

In a statement shared on social media, Dream11 said, “What started as a dream here is now crossing borders, connecting fans, and building communities everywhere. This isn’t just an expansion — it’s the beginning of a worldwide community where sport has no boundaries. Made in India. Now global.”
The expansion to Canada marks a major milestone for the Tencent-, TPG, and Tiger Global-backed startup, which was once valued at US$8 billion. After India’s Online Gaming Bill (2025) led to a nationwide ban on money-based online games, Dream11 shifted its focus to international markets and non-cash models to rebuild its business.
Focus on New Models and Partnerships
So far, the company has not confirmed whether it will introduce real-money games (RMG) in Canada. Instead, Dream11 is expected to promote its new verticals, such as Flex and Dream Money, both designed to provide innovative, engagement-driven experiences without involving monetary stakes.
Flex offers free-to-play fantasy games supported by brand partnerships and advertising, while Dream Money enables users to explore financial opportunities like gold and fixed deposits. The company has already collaborated with brands such as Swiggy, Astrotalk, and Tata Neu, leveraging its user base of more than 250 million sports fans.
A Strategic Step into a Sports-Loving Market
Canada’s growing cricket and soccer communities present fertile ground for Dream11’s fantasy sports offerings. The country has seen a steady rise in cricket engagement through domestic leagues and international tournaments, aligning well with Dream11’s strengths.
“Canada is an exciting market where sports fandom is diverse and passionate,” a Dream11 spokesperson said. “Our goal is to connect fans across sports through technology and community-driven play.”
